Contemplative Practices

Modern reflective exercises inspired by sacred imagery, clearly distinguished from historical reconstruction.

Important context

These exercises are modern contemplative practices. They are not presented as authenticated ancient Merkabah initiation rituals.

1. Reading the vision slowly

Read Ezekiel 1 in short sections. Pause after each image. Notice which details evoke motion, fear, beauty, order, or mystery.

2. The four directions

Sit quietly and become aware of the space before, behind, beside, above, and below you. Reflect on the chariot's ability to move without losing orientation.

3. Wheels of attention

Visualize a luminous wheel turning around a still center. Let passing thoughts move at the circumference while attention rests at the center.

4. Journaling prompt

Where in my life do I need movement without losing alignment?

5. Closing in gratitude

End with a brief expression of gratitude, then return your attention to the room, body, and ordinary responsibilities.
